Help Wanted 2009-2010 Season

Eastern PA Region Ski Patrol -

We have two openings on the Advisor Staff:

  • Regional Historian - Maintains history of the EPA Region
  • Alumni Advisor - Maintains contact with EPA Alumni Members and arranges events for Alumni Members.

- Alpine Mt. Ski Patrol - E-333

Alpine Mountain, Eastern PA’s Family Ski Area is looking for ski patrollers and experienced first-aid room OEC/EMT/EMT-P/EMT-PHRN for full-time, part-time, and volunteer positions.

Responsibilities include providing medical assistance and evacuation, skier safety, search and rescue support, trail work, lift evac, duty station responsibilities, and other duties as assigned.

OEC and/or EMT and CPR required, EMT/Paramedics/Nurses needed. Ski Patrol experience preferred, but training is available.

Strong skiing/riding background required for Ski Patrol position. A 15-day minimum commitment is required for volunteers. Several physical requirements involved, as this is an outdoor environment.

Must be able to communicate clearly in order to react and respond to injured skiers and riders.

Our ski season, depending on weather, starts Thanksgiving week and continues through the beginning of April.

Applicant must possess current:

  • OEC and/or EMT, EMTP Certifications, or RN Certification
  • CPR Card
  • Good Ski and/or Snowboard Ability
  • Pleasant personality to cordially deal with the skiing public
  • Emergency Management Skills to handle outdoor emergence situations.
  • Proper Grooming and no visible tattoos or body piercing
  • Prior Work References, and/or personal references
  • Language: Speak, Read & Write English
  • Operational knowledge of snowmobile and ATV is a plus.
  • Winter Emergency Care Training provided to successful EMT applicants.
